Deidre's First Litter

Puppies:  Deidre had her first litter of five puppies on December 11, 2007.   There are 1 tan cream, 1 sable (has unusual coloration that some would call brindle), and 3 black puppies.   Four of the puppies were girls and one black puppy was a boy.     These will all be large toys or small miniature poodles.

All  puppies come with CKC puppy registration papers and health guarantee.  They have had their tails docked and dewclaws removed.    They are current on their deworming (Panacure every two weeks) and will get their first vaccination when they are 6 weeks old.

These will be Ready about January 24, 2008.   You can hold a puppy for $150.00.  If you are interested, please give us a call at 706-538-1003 (not a toll in Atlanta Area, do not dial 1),  (678) 836-6315 (cell phone, or email us at pups@WF-Poodle.com

This picture is at 4 weeks, the rest at 5.5 weeks.  You can see the sable coloring starting to dominate the color of this puppy.  The black coloring is from the black tips to each hair.  Note the black face caused by the Mask gene.
This is Baez (sold) at five and a half weeksShe is a Sable  which means that the hairs are basically tan-silver in color, but the tips are black.  (There is some confusion about the difference between sable and brindle).  Note the red-tan color in her feet.  Her face is covered by what is called a black mask.  Her mother had similar coloration as a puppy, but has faded completely to cream.  Baez may also fade to a tan cream as she gets older.  It all depends on her genetic makeup.   Her face should remain dark.  She is a very unusual puppy.

Baez is an independent puppy that love to explore.  I put the two litters together for the pictures, and Baez loved to play with the older puppies in Isis' litter.  She has a great personality and loved to crawl all over me in an attempt to get to my beard.  She is a special little puppy.  She will probably be a small miniature or a large toy.

This is Streisand (sold) at five and a half weeksShe is a tan cream with darker ears.  She is the only light colored puppy in this litter.  This puppy is loaded with personality and was very easy to photograph - almost posing.  She is a quiet puppy who preferred not to rough house with the other puppies.   She is very affectionate.   She will grow to be a small miniature.  Will finish at about 8 - 10 lbs.

This is Tina (sale pending) at three weeksShe is a solid black puppy.  I think now that she will remain black.   She loves to play and crawl over my legs and up my chest.  Like her litter mates, she has an excellent personality.  She will grow to be a small miniature, and  will finish at about 8 - 10 lbs.

This is Eartha (sold) at five and one half weeks. She is a solid black puppy.  She has a good coat that shines.  Excellent personality and loves to play.  She will grow to be a small miniature.  will finish at about 8 - 10 lbs.

This is Ike (sold) at five and one half weeks. He is the only boy in the litter.  He is a solid black puppy, with a rich, thick coat.  He give little kisses if you let him get close to your nose.  He will grow to be a small miniature.  will finish at about 8 - 10 lbs.

Dam:  Deidre s a  CKC registered Miniature Poodle.  I say miniature, she has short legs and might slip in as a toy, but has the size and weight of a miniature poodle.   She was born a Sable Poodle (see Baez above) with black tips to her hairs, but has faded with age to a cream.  You can still see traces of the sable coloring in her ears, probably because she carries the mask gene.  Her pedigree lists several silver poodles, but I imagine some of those must be sables.  Deidre is very friendly and affectionate.   We have found that some of our customers prefer the short legs, and she has the shortest legs of all our poodles.  Deidre is shown below guarding her puppies.  They are not quite old enough to leave the security of their home and it's heating pad.  The picture on the right shows what remains of her sable coloration in her ears and face.

Sire:  Cocoa is a medium brown poodle, resisted CKC.  He is a small miniature with a lot of spunk.  He takes his role of Sire very seriously.  For a Kennel dog, he is very friendly.  One of our more intelligent dogs.  He clearly has more than just brown genes as he produced a cream and a sable in this litter.  In fact, there is a suggestion of black tipped hairs on his back.
